Item Ecclesiology among the Lugbara of Uganda(Uganda Christian University, 2001) Erema, Samuel O. F.Focus: When the Missionaries introduced Christianity among the Lugbara, they introduced western model of ecclesiology which is not appropriate to the Lugabra Christian spirituality. In this dissertation the author high lights ecclesiology among the Lugbara of North-western Uganda. The author decries the fact that African Christians inherited missionary models with the denominational divisions and individualistic way of life which properly belonged to the western Church-and as a result the African communal way of life was devalued and African Christians completely broke from their traditional societies. The author asserts that the missionary model has not fitted the African Christians and has failed to penetrate deeply to the heart of the African. The author recommends that the Church leadership in Africa should establish the African clan model ecclesiology which is most appropriate for the Lugbara Christian and African Christian in general.
