    Organizational Culture and the Adoption of Digital Records Management Systems in Private Universities in Uganda

    This study examined the influence of organizational culture on the adoption of digital records management systems in private universities in Kampala, Uganda. The specific objectives focused on assessing the impact of leadership styles, communication patterns, employee attitudes, and organizational norms on system adoption. A cross-sectional survey design was used, targeting administrative staff, IT personnel, and department heads from two private universities. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics. Findings indicated that leadership support, clear communication, positive employee attitudes, and a culture of compliance significantly influenced the successful adoption of digital records management systems. Resistance to change, inadequate training, and inconsistent leadership engagement were key challenges. The study concluded that fostering a supportive organizational culture enhances digital records adoption. It recommended leadership development, improved communication, continuous training, and a collaborative work environment to facilitate system integration.
